FALIA Essay Competition awards 3 APU students

On Friday, January 20, 2023, the award ceremony for the The Foundation for the Advancement of Life & Insurance Around the world (FALIA) Essay Competition 2022 was held. The FALIA Essay Competition is an annual essay competition based on the theme of insurance and is for international students attending Japanese universities. In 2022, FALIA received applications from students from a record number of 24 countries, and three APU students won prizes.

While there were many papers on how insurance can address the SDGs, such as gender equality, poverty eradication, and improvement of quality of life, 2nd place winner AMOAH COSMOS was highly praised for his empirical analysis of social issues using quantitative methods.

FALIA Essay Competition accepts entries written in English, so each year many APU students participate. Calls for entry and similar information are posted on the scholarship page of the Student Office website.

Essay theme: “The Endless Potential of Life Insurance in Bangladesh: What the country can do to expand and elevate the Life Insurance sector through adapting useful strategies”

Effort Award:NGUYEN Van Anh(College of Asia Pacific Studies 3rd year、Viet Nam)
Essay theme: “Implementation of Life Insurance in Improving the Living Standards of Ethnic Minorities in Vietnam by Working towards the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”
