On July 5, 2023, Ambassador Sibi George from the Embassy of India in Japan visited APU. He was accompanied by Consul General Nikhilesh Giri, from the Consulate General of India in Osaka-Kobe. On that day, Vice President Yoneyama, Vice President Asano, Professor Kim from APM, admissions staff and Indian students studying at APU welcomed the Ambassador and engaged in discussions. Currently, APU has sixty-two undergraduate students and nine graduate students from India enrolled. During the meeting, the community of Indian students at APU and the achievements of alumni from India were introduced, creating an engaging atmosphere. Furthermore, there were lively discussions on strengthening collaboration between India and APU in future educational activities, as well as advice on student recruitment.
On the same day, a lecture by Ambassador Sibi George was held for current students. The lecture, titled "India-Japan Relations from a Geopolitical Perspective in the Context of Special Strategic Global Partnership," attracted many students interested in international relations, and they listened attentively. During the Q&A session after the lecture, a wide range of questions were raised, spanning from India's foreign policy to high-speed rail development, and the Ambassador answered all questions thoughtfully.
