On April 13th (Sat) and 14th (Sun), 2024, students from APU and Kyushu Institute of Technology participated as volunteers in the "40th Iizuka International Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, Emperor's Cup and Empress's Cup" held in Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture.

This activity was carried out as part of the collaboration and cooperation agreement between Iizuka City, Kyushu Institute of Technology, and APU, signed on January 30th, 2024. From APU, 21 international students from 15 countries and 10 students from Kyushu Institute of Technology participated in activities such as venue guidance, official merchandise sales, and promoting Iizuka City.

Additionally, on the evening of the 13th (Sat), students stayed together at the facility "Sun Village Akane" in Iizuka City, deepening exchanges among the students through activities such as a barbecue.

After the volunteer activities concluded, a review session was made at the Iizuka City Hall, and students discussed that they were able to deepen the interest in inclusive society through the operation of the Iizuka International Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, as well as the learning of intercultural understanding.
