Jul 11, 2025
On July 3, 2025, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) signed a comprehensive partnership agreement at the NYCU campus. The agreement aims to foster globally minded talent equipped with multicultural management skills for leadership in the high-tech industry.
For APU—which does not have science or engineering colleges—this partnership represents a significant step toward expanding its academic and practical engagement with advanced technological fields, including semiconductors.
As industries worldwide become increasingly globalized, companies are seeking professionals who not only possess technical expertise, but also excel in cross-cultural communication and management. In the tech sector especially, there is a growing demand for individuals who can navigate complex cultural, religious, and social contexts while driving innovation and collaboration.
On the day of the ceremony, a discussion was held regarding of future collaboration. Both universities actively exchanged views on the future of educational partnerships, the potential for cooperation in semiconductor-related education—an area in which NYCU excels—and the overall direction of human resource development. The discussion with NYCU representatives was lively and engaging.
APU and NYCU will continue to strengthen their collaboration by drawing on each institution’s unique strengths, with the shared goal of cultivating the next generation of leaders in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
