On Monday, July 7, 2025, Vice-President (Vice-Rector for International Relations) Rafal Witkowski and Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies Prof. Beata Bochorodycz of Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) in Poland visited APU. Vice-President Shinoda of APU and Dean Kikkawa of APS joined Vice-President Witkowski in discussion.
AMU is one of the largest universities in Poland in terms of its student body and is eagerly engages in research activities, while also receiving a large number of research grants from the government and other organizations in the country. It also features a diverse range of research fields, including linguistics.
Vice-President Rafal Witknowski said that this was his first visit to Japan as well as his first visit to APU. He also stated, "Taking advantage of the strengths of both APU and AMU in education and research, in the future, we would like to define specific research fields and establish an international team for this research and further research promotion together."
Vice-President Shinoda shared information on the 2025 AP Conference, which APU holds every fall and invited AMU researchers to participate. Additionally, both confirmed that they will enter into a Cooperation Agreement or a specific research agreement and deepen personal exchanges of students and faculty members, as well as research collaboration.
