On Saturday, December 20, more than 50 participants, including students, faculty, staff, and their family members from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), took part in a community clean-up activity in Beppu City.

This initiative was planned and organized through a three-way collaboration among the student organization ECOS, which has long been engaged in beach-cleaning activities in the city, Creotech Co., Ltd., and APU. The activity was carried out with the shared intention of expressing gratitude to the city of Beppu, which has supported the APU community over the years.

On the day of the event, participants conducted clean-up activities at several locations throughout the city and collected approximately 20 kilograms of trash. The activity provided an opportunity for each participant to deepen their awareness of the local environment and to reaffirm the strong connection between APU and the local community.

APU will continue to promote initiatives that contribute to environmental conservation and community engagement as a university that grows and moves forward together with the local community.
