APU Student Receives Certificate of Appreciation from Oita Prefectural Police

On March 10, Ms. Ren Matsumoto (College of Asia Pacific Studies 3rd year), together with APU (represented by Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Hiroki Tahara) received a Certificate of Appreciation from Ms. Yoko Nagahata, Director of the Safe and Secure Community Development Promotion Office at the Oita Prefectural Police Headquarters.
Ms. Matsumoto has been an active member of Oita Patrolx, a student crime-prevention volunteer group, and she has participated in various safety initiatives throughout the prefecture. Her sustained dedication to supporting community safety and security received high praise, leading to this commendation.
APU was also presented with a certificate in recognition of the university’s support for student-led safety initiatives on campus as well as the large number of its students who take part in Oita Patrolx activities.

Oita Patrolx brings together students from universities, junior colleges, and vocational schools to participate in patrols, create community safety maps, distribute informational flyers, and conduct crime-prevention awareness campaigns. Through these activities, the group contributes to enhancing community safety awareness and fostering a secure and welcoming environment.
APU will continue to support initiatives that strengthen community safety and contribute to building a safe and inclusive community for all.
