APU has been ranked 101–150 globally in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026: Hospitality & Leisure Management, released on 25 March 2026. This marks APU’s first-ever inclusion in this subject ranking. In this field, APU is the only university from Japan to be ranked.

The Hospitality & Leisure Management subject ranking is assessed using indicators such as employer reputation, academic reputation, and citations per faculty, with a strong emphasis on practical relevance and international recognition.

In this year’s rankings, APU received particularly high scores for employer reputation, and this strong support from industry led to its first-ever ranking in the field of Hospitality & Leisure Management.

APU will continue its ongoing efforts to enhance practical and internationally oriented education and research, in collaboration with academia, industry, government, and the local community.
