Support for April 2026 Entrants, Students Who Declined Enrollment, and Current Students Requiring the Extension of Period of Stay in AY2026

We would like to once again express our sincere apologies to our students, prospective students, parents, and all related parties for the considerable inconvenience and concern caused by administrative shortcomings that resulted in the university not being designated as a 'Selected Institution' by the Immigration Services Agency of Japan. As President, I take very seriously the anxiety and burden this situation has placed on new students and prospective students who had been eagerly anticipating their university life at APU.

In light of the significant impact this matter has had on students and prospective students, the university has decided to implement the following support measures. Further details will be provided individually to applicable students and those who have declined enrollment.

1. Support for April 2026 Entrants and Students Who Declined Enrollment

April 2026 Entrants

  • Until all April 2026 Entrants arrive at our campus, online classes will continue to be provided. Each college will establish systems to monitor students' learning progress and strengthen online academic support so that students can easily seek advice or consultation regarding their studies.
  • After the arrival of all April 2026 Entrants, a welcome event for new students will be held during the Spring Semester.

Students Who Declined Enrollment for April 2026

  • The deadline for submitting a notice of enrollment withdrawal will be extended from the end of March 2026 to the end of April 2026. Students who withdraw will receive a refund of already paid tuition fees.
  • In consideration of the additional financial burden associated with applying to other universities as a result of this incident, APU will refund admission fees and dormitory fees to all students who chose not to enroll at APU.

2. Support for Increased Period of Stay Requirements

For current students and April 2026 new students whose Extension of Period of Stay has increased beyond the originally planned frequency due to APU not being designated as a Selected Institution, the university will provide financial assistance to cover the additional renewal fees.

For students entering in September 2026, the university will continue preparations to ensure smooth enrollment. Should delays in entry occur, the same support measures as those applied during this time will be implemented.

We once again sincerely apologize for the significant concern and inconvenience caused to our new students, current students and students who were planning to study at APU.
