We will hold several mandatory new student orientation sessions to help you proceed toward enrollment.

1. Issuance of APU Account (ID) and Password

You will need your APU account login details (APU user ID and password) to access all of APU’s systems, including your APU email, the university’s online noticeboard (Campus Terminal), Zoom, and for online course registration.
APU account user ID and password will be informed through the “Enrolment Procedures System” in the evening of Wednesday, March 27.
*Please note that the system to access is different for international and domestic admissions students.

International Admissions Students:
You can confirm your APU account user ID, password, and student ID number in the "Enrollment Procedures System".

3. On-demand guidance videos

The following guidance sessions will be delivered via on-demand videos. Please make sure to watch the following videos during the designated periods.

0. Welcome to APU!! - Video Contents and ALRCS Students' Support –

Ready to navigate your new student environment? This video series by Academic & Learning Resource Core Staff (ALRCS) provides a clear roadmap for students and introduces you to the systems you will need for your APU life such as your APU e-mail, Campus Terminal, Campusmate, Moodle, and more!

1. Notification of APU user ID and password

To access the APU systems, you will need your APU Account. This video shows you where to find your user ID and password and gives a summary on which systems it can be used for.

2. Initial Set-up of the APU Account, MFA and Microsoft 365

Learn how to safeguard your APU (Microsoft 365) account with confidence and download the necessary tools you will need for classes like Zoom! In this video we will explain how to change and strengthen your password and how to enable Multi Factor Authentication!

3. Campus Terminal and Campusmate

Campus Terminal and Campusmate both have 'Campus' in the name, but their functions are very different! This video unveils the functionalities of Campus Terminal and Campus Mate, how to log-in, and essential functions you need to know.

4. APU Moodle

Where do you submit homework and find learning materials given by the professors in APU? That would be Moodle for most classes. This video introduces how to log-in to APU Moodle, your academic learning system for your APU life.

5. Connecting to the Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi)

To connect to APU's online system you will need to connect to the campus Wifi! This video explains how to connect to the Wifi for the first time on Campus and troubleshooting tips for a seamless online experience. We'll also cover key points to remember when the semester starts such as the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy and loaner PC options.
Health Checkup and APU Health Clinic & Counseling Room
All new students must take a health checkup on April 2 (Tue) – 3 (Wed). Details will be explained during the Healthcare Guidance on March 26 (Tue) but please make sure to watch the health checkup video beforehand.

〈International Students only〉VISA Guidance
This video will explain the procedures on how to extend your period of stay (visa renewal) and other important information related to student visa. You MUST watch this video during March 28 (Thu) to April 3 (Wed). If you DO NOT watch it during this period, it will have a negative influence on your extension of period of stay (visa renewal) in your 3rd year.

Introduction to AP language subjects: Course Overview and Enrollment Instructions
At APU, we offer six Asia-Pacific languages (Chinese, Korean, Malay-Indonesian, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese).
In this video, we will explain the overview and enrollment process for each AP language subject. If you are considering taking AP language courses, please be sure to watch this video.

Information on Emergency Disasters
APU students worked with faculty to create a video for students that explains how to prepare for and react when an earthquake strikes.

4. Orientation schedule

Orientation guidance sessions will be held at the designated dates and times below. Please see the Orientation Schedule below for more information. Please make sure to bring writing materials to all the guidance sessions.

* International student: Any student with a student visa.
Domestic student: Any student with Japanese nationality, and any foreign student who has any other type of visa.
