This year’s parade will exhibit many aspects of Thailand, from traditional to modern performances. We hope you enjoy the highlight of ‘Umbrella dance’ from the northern part of Thailand, and are ready for ‘Thai modern dance’ that will make you feel excited.
"Spicy Eating Contest" 12:00 - 12:45 @APU Co-op 2nd floor
Candidates from around the world will compete with one another, eating various spicy Thai dishes within a limited time. Audiences can enjoy watching each round, cheer for their friends, and have chances to try these heavenly dishes.
"Thai Temple Fair" 14:00 - 15:40 @AP Hall (AP House 2) ※APU Students only
Join the ‘Thai Temple Fair’ to explore vibrant Thai culture and pleasant Thai traditional activities. You can also enjoy a chance to learn how to make ‘kratong’, which is a traditional decorated Thai basket. The person who makes the most beautiful Kratong will win amazing prizes.
"Thai Sports Day" 12:25 - 14:00 @Library Ground (in case of rain, in the gym)
We will introduce many kinds of Thai sports the students of APU, and they will be able to compete with one another to win prizes. Apart from having fun playing Thai sports, participants and audiences can enjoy watching a Thai-style cheerleader show which is really unique and lively.
Grand Show "Maneechan" 18:30 - (doors open 18:00) @Millennium Hall
"Maneechan" is a stage play adapted from the Thai historical novel 'Thaviphob'. Maneechan is a story of a woman who slips back into Thailand's olden days (Siam era) through a mirror. Under the pressure of defensive warfare of that era, she plays an important part in easing the conflict. At the same time, she also encounters many Thai customs that are rarely seen in the modern era, and she starts to feel more affection for the people of the Siam era, including Luang Akarathep Warakorn, the hand of the king of Siam.
