International Academic Conference “Mitigating Freshwater Conflicts in Asia: Harnessing Avenues for Cooperation”

APU and the Nanyang Technological University S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies will be co-hosting an international academic conference entitled “Mitigating Freshwater Conflicts in Asia: Harnessing Avenues for Cooperation”. This will be the second time APU has held a conference overseas in cooperation with Nanyang Technological University, following the first conference in December 2011. President KORENAGA Shun will lead the delegation from APU, which will include Founding President SAKAMOTO Kazuichi, as well as five other faculty members.
In addition to a keynote speech from Chairman Tan Gee Paw of the Singapore Public Utilities Board, the two-day conference will feature an exchange of opinions between well-known experts about the future of water resources in Asia. President Emeritus Cham Tao Soon of Nanyang Technological University, who is also an APU Academic Advisor, will be in attendance at the opening reception on February 25th. Additionally, Mr. ANDO Toshihide, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Japan in Singapore, will offer greetings at the reception.
