Opening Event“APU EISA CIRCLE ICHARIBA” 12:10 - 12:25 @ Fountain
Okinawa Week will kickoff with Okinawa’s most well-known traditional dance “Eisa” in front of the fountain.
“Fashion show, dance & live music” 18:00 - 19:30 @ Student Hall
Featuring traditional Okinawan costumes, this fashion show will be highlighted with both modern pop and traditional Okinawan folklore dance. Live music will be provided by an APU student band.

“Shi-sa painting” 12:00 - 15:00 @ Cafeteria
Shi-sa is an Okinawan lion statue used to ward against evil. Come experience traditional Okinawan crafting and paint your own original shi-sa to take home!
“Grand Show”18:00 - 19:30 @ Millenium Hall
This final event will show you the history of Okinawa and the heart of Okinawan people through such symbolic expressions as “Ichari-bacho de” and “yui-maru”.
*During Okinawa week, the cafeteria will be preparing staple Okinawan dishes: Goya-chanpuru and taco rice.
*We will have a display showing clothing dyed in the traditonal Okinawan style of "bingata" at the Cafeteria Display Area.
