The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has badly ravaged both Brazil and India. These federalist democracies with large territories have faced extra challenges reaching out to the peripheries and running a comprehensive and consistent policy package. Professor Chintamani Mahapatra, rector of Jawaharlal Nehru University in India and Professor Dawisson Belém Lopes, professor of international and comparative politics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Brazil will join APU's Professor Yoichiro Sato for an online seminar discussing the challenges their countries have faced and implications of the pandemic on democratic governance.
Please note this event will be conducted entirely in English.
